Decision making, like training, is a process not an event. For this reason Class 'A' has put together a variety of successful training methods - including a driving simulator - to ensure our students learn this process and how to use in their daily lives.

The essential key to effective learning is experience. And, the driver's experiences in the simulator are in fact, real experiences, in so far as the driver's neural perception and memory are concerned. A key to transferring that experience effectively to the real road driving environment --achieving a high level of concomitant training -- is the curriculum (the scenarios and exercises) that the driver experiences while driving the simulator. The simulator used at Class ‘A’ can accommodate virtually an unlimited number of scenarios, having unlimited test conditions in each scenario. The only limitation is the training agency’s need to define and structure the experiences required for its trainees.

Typically, a training course contains a battery of experiences that require drivers to:
 
a.    acknowledge and demonstrate a set of policy and procedural requirements;
b.    demonstrate proficiency in control and performance skills required on the job;
c.    perform maneuvers and driving exercises in potentially hazardous conditions; and
d.    practice recognizing and avoiding hazardous conditions, and responding correctly
       to conditions that require decisions and learned response behaviors.
 

In this way, trainees gain experience by practice--by doing in the simulator what they need to do in the real world. Further, the simulator provides an effective tool for the training agency to measure and score each trainees performance objectively.
